Springteen Re-issues & Releases Documentary

Bruce Springsteen will be re-issuing a deluxe version of Darkness on the Edge of Town in the closing months of 2010.  Accompanying the re-issue is a documentary, telling the story of how the band brought the album to life and highlights of life during that time.  The film, The Promise, is scheduled to premiere September 14, 2010 at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The documentary features video footage of never before scene home rehearsals and recording sessions.  During that time, drummer Max Weinberg recalls someone with a hand held camera around all the time.  Which is a real treat for fans when bands capture career making moments on film.

Bruce Springsteen releases new live DVD

Since American fans can’t use Bruce Springsteen tickets until Sept. 23, when he returns to play a Birthday Tribute at the BB King Blues Club in New York City, why not check out his latest live DVD?

In late June, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band released London Calling: Live in Hyde Park. Just after the release, the DVD shot to No. 1 on DVD charts across the U.S., U.K., Spain, Ireland, Canada, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden and Austria. That’s quite impressive!

The 172-minute DVD was filmed at 2009’s Hard Rock Calling Festival in London.  A total of 28 songs are played on the DVD, plus bonus material, like “The River: Glastonbury Festival 2009” and “Wrecking Ball: Giants Stadium 2009.”

Bruce Springsteen: From Then to Now

Jersey Boy Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band have been rockin the airways with their signature pop hooks, poetic lyrics and hometown pride for more than 20 years.  They have achieved a global fan base selling over 120 million albums worldwide.

Springsteen’s two most successful albums “Born To Run” and “Born In The USA” made him one of the most recognized stars of the 80’s.  He has a special knack for “finding the grandeur in the struggles of daily American life.”  He has since won 20 Grammy awards, 2 Golden Globes and an academy award.  His most recent win was the 2010 Grammy for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for “Working On A Dream.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & Museum will be hosting “From Asbury Park to the Promised Land: The Life & Music of Bruce Springsteen” exhibit form June 4-6, 2010.  Also in June, Springsteen will be releasing “London Calling, Live In Hyde Park” on the 22nd.
